Things have been busy around the NLIHC offices lately. January saw us rushing to put the final details on our conference. February saw the announcement of President Obama’s FY13 budget proposal, and our release of Housing Spotlight: The Shrinking Supply of Affordable Housing.
Now that it’s March, we’ve got just a few things coming up, like the release of Out of Reach 2012: America’s Forgotten Housing Crisis, and our Annual Housing Policy Conference, Lobby Day and Leadership Reception. But to kick all of that off, we did a very big thing:
In this first major redesign of the NLIHC website in many years, we worked to create a site that would be easy to navigate and inviting for both seasoned advocates and those new to low income housing issues to visit and explore.
Here’s a quick guide to new features and old favorites:
- NLIHC prides itself in creating some of the best, most up-to-the-minute information on low income housing policy. Now, all of that great research and reporting is available in one place: the Resource Library.
- Housing policy is a diverse and complex subject. Learning the basics, and keeping up with changes in the policy landscape, are daunting tasks for everyone. Now, you can visit our Policy Issues section to download fact sheets on key programs and track the latest developments for every issue we cover.
- Interested in our 2012 Housing Policy Conference? Visit our conference page to learn more… and visit it again after the conference to download materials from our workshops.
- Itching to take action on housing issues? Visit our Get Involved section for everything from advocacy tools and the legislative action center, to local contacts and events.
If you’ve gotten used to our previous website, it might take a bit of time for you to explore the new site and learn where everything you need lives today. But we think your time will be well-spent!
So take that tour of our site, and let us know what you think in the comments.
GO NLIHC Go! Looks great!
