Established in 1974 by Cushing N. Dolbeare, the National Low Income Housing Coalition is dedicated solely to achieving socially just public policy that assures people with the lowest incomes in the United States have affordable and decent homes.
We educate, organize and advocate to ensure decent, affordable housing within healthy neighborhoods for everyone.
NLIHC’s blog, On the Home Front, provides insight into the key housing policy issues of the day, and takes readers “behind the scenes” into the work of affordable housing advocates across the country through news round-ups and advocate profiles. Our recurring series include:
- News Round-Up posts highlighting affordable housing news from around the country.
- Advocate Spotlight posts that share the stories of affordable housing advocates of all kinds.
- Talk of the Town posts that encourage readers to consider and comment on news and developments that impact housing policy.
- Intern Spotlight posts showcasing the work of some of our most valued staff members- our interns.
