Since 2009, NLIHC has recognized the organizing achievements of our members with the State and Local Organizing Award. Now, we’re expanding our recognition of organizing achievement with the Resident Organizing Award.
The award will be given for outstanding achievement in the 2011 calendar year for resident organizing activity at the state or local level that furthers the mission of NLIHC: achieving socially just public policy that assures people with the lowest incomes in the United States have affordable and decent homes. We’ll present the award at our 2012 Housing Policy Conference in Washington, D.C.
Do you know of a resident organizing group that deserves consideration for this award? Visit our website to learn more about the requirements, and contact outreach@nlihc.org with questions or to submit a nomination.
The deadline to nominate is 5 pm ET on February 10, 2012. That’s just two months away, so submit your nominations soon.
