Talk of the Town: Far From Consensus

The Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction is “far from a consensus.” The Senate is voting down the jobs bill piece by piece, and both houses of Congress are putting forward appropriations bills that could make devastating cuts to housing programs. Meanwhile, states continue to make deep budget cuts as they brace for another year of lower-than-expected revenues.
