Every year, the National Low Income Housing Coalition releases a report called Out of Reach. This report shows what it costs to rent a modest two bedroom apartment in every state, and shows what a renter would have to earn to afford an apartment at Fair Market Rent.
This year NLIHC released the 2011 Out of Reach report on May 2nd. This report contains important data for housing advocates nationwide to use in the fight for more affordable housing. It regularly receives lots of coverage from around the country and we wanted to take the time to share some of them with you. NLIHC staff works closely with our state partners to release the report and you will see those organizations mentioned in many of these articles.
