About NLIHC

Established in 1974 by Cushing N. Dolbeare, the National Low Income Housing Coalition is dedicated to achieving racially and socially equitable public policy that ensures people with the lowest incomes have quality homes that are accessible and affordable in communities of their choice.

We educate, organize and advocate to ensure decent, affordable housing within healthy neighborhoods for everyone.

NLIHC’s blog, On the Home Front, provides insight into the key housing policy issues of the day and takes readers “behind the scenes” into the work of affordable housing advocates across the country.
